If you are currently chasing around tiny babes, and trying to balance your 4 legged crew as well, look no further. Welcome to my biweekly blog, with new a entry on balancing a life with dogs and kids posted every other Monday! I’ve been a trainer for about 9 years now, and one reoccurring stress for dog owners, is bringing home babies, or bringing home puppies TO their babies. I’m hoping to help others achieve a better understanding on how to make this balance happen with knowledge I’ve gained in my profession, as well as personal experience raising my two babes, with my 3 pooches. I currently have a broad aged pack at home, with a 13 year old American Staff/Lab cross (Scoonie my SWEET old man), a 7 year old American Pit Bull Terrier (Karma), and our 1.5 year old Cane Corso (Vino…trust me, you are going to hear a LOT about this one!). My son, Aiden, who is now 6 years old, was born into a home of two pups, Scoonie and Karma. Karma was a young 9 months old when we brought Aiden home, she was easily the best decision we have ever made. Karma is a current therapy animal through ITA, and began working as a diabetic alert dog about a year after my son was born. Ava is my youngest two legged terror (no joke), and she was only home a week when we added Vino to our growing pack…they are monsters together! I board client dogs in my home, as well as the occasional rescue, so my house is always popping. I spend 5 days a week training dogs at Camp Bow Wow, and the rest of my free time goes to keeping up with all of the functions my kiddos have going on, and working towards finishing up my degree in Animal Behavior. My blog has a purpose, I want to help keep dogs in homes, even when the family is growing, by sharing my knowledge and resources with other people that are busy pet owners as well. You don’t even need to have tiny toes running around your house to benefit! Please feel free to share around with your friends, and enjoy the antics of my crazy pack!
